When relationships with parents go wrong.

My family, help.

I love my parents, but they hurt me. This is what I have learnt over the years. It is very sad and no-one is to blame. We don't get on and I think a lot of that has to do with how far my life is removed from theirs. I last saw them at Christmas when it all went horribly wrong. There was a lot of shouting, swearing and no listening, compassion or love. Things went wrong and I walked out of my family home moved into a hotel and booked early flights home. We haven't really spoken since until I phoned last week. People say time is a healer and I believe that in most ways but sometimes time can encourage a festering of feelings and emotions. I want us to start having good memories without the drama and the hurt. So my focus has changed, I don't think it should be about us but about my daughter and them being in her life. There are a lot things that I still feel pain about, but the lat few months have taught me that I would prefer them in my life rather than not. They are coming on thursday to visit after 9 months of no contact, I'm a mess, but hopefully with my daughter as the focus. We'll all remember what's important. Give me strength. Suggestions, shared experiences and comments would be greatly received.

I am sorry to hear that. You have to patient. I think as a parent they still missed you. And as a daughter you have to show your love and respect to them in any circumstances. There is two character of human, bad and good. and this is walk in the same side. between both character should fill each other. There is no perfect in the world. You should contact and meet them soon. I think still there a warm love between you and your parents. The best thing is you have to pray and pray. I hope it getting well soon...amen.
